Nibal Ahmed Heads to Thailand for One-Month High-Performance Training Camp

Revival Sports High Performance athlete Nibal Ahmed has departed for Thailand to undertake an intensive one-month training camp as part of his preparations for the 2026 BWF-sanctioned tournament circuit.

The training camp, scheduled from January 10 to February 10, will take place at the renowned Banthongyord Badminton School, one of Asia’s most respected badminton academies. This overseas stint is a key component of Revival Sports’ long-term performance strategy, as the organization plans to compete in multiple BWF tournaments during a pivotal year for international ranking progression.

The upcoming season holds particular significance for Revival Sports athletes, following a seven-month absence from BWF-level competition due to the Maldives’ suspension by the Badminton World Federation. With international participation now back on track, the focus has shifted to high-quality preparation and performance optimization.

Nibal is no stranger to overseas training. Over the course of his career, he has completed multiple international training stints, including a period in Dubai after being awarded an Olympic Scholarship. Following his contract with Revival Sports, he also trained in Indonesia, and in January last year, he completed a month-long camp at a highly recognized international badminton academy.

A decorated athlete, Nibal has been named Best Badminton Player of the Year at the Maldives Sports Awards and has also received the Best Junior Athlete Award, highlighting his consistent excellence across age categories. A national champion, he has represented the Maldives in numerous international competitions, with his most recent appearances coming alongside fellow Revival Sports athletes on the Southern Africa Tour, competing in BWF tournaments in Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa.
