Nibal claims Eydhafushi Cup 2025 singles title with dominant run

Revival Sports standout Nibal Ahmed has captured the Men’s Singles title at the Eydhafushi Cup 2025, continuing his stellar run of form on the national badminton circuit.

Nibal’s latest triumph adds to a growing list of recent accomplishments. He recently won the Dhiraagu Maldives Junior Open Men’s Singles title, and also reached the Naifaru Open final, where he was defeated by Zayan Zaki in final. But, Nibal later avenged that loss by defeating Zayan Zaki in the Dhiraagu Junior Open mens final.

In the Eydhafushi Cup final, Nibal faced Hassan Zayan Mohamed, delivering a composed and confident performance to win in straight sets: 21-17, 21-15. Earlier in the semi-final, he cruised past local favorite Awf Bin Fazloon with a crushing 21-05, 21-05 victory.

Nibal first made headlines at the age of 14 during the 2016 National Badminton Tournament (Second Division), where he reached the final in his debut appearance. Despite losing three consecutive finals in the First Division, he eventually clinched the National Championship title in 2022 and finished runner-up again in 2023.

Fior Revival Sports, Eydhafushi Cup 2025 isn’t just about a participation competition, it also highlights grassroots development. Junior matches hosted at the Eydhafushi Youth Center feature rising talents from Revival Sports Badminton Academy (RSBA), Revival Sports High Performance Team (RS), and the Revival Sports Eydhafushi Academy. These institutions continue to nurture the next generation of badminton stars in the Maldives.
