Nibal, Zayan Zaki, Hassan Zayan & Haisham power into Semis
Dhiraagu Maldives Junior Open 2025 has turned into a showcase of Revival Sports dominance, as four of the club’s High Performance Team athletes have advanced to the semi-finals of the men’s singles category.
Nibal Ahmed, Zayan Zaki, Hassan Zayan Mohamed, and Haisham Ibrahim Ali all produced commanding performances in the quarter-finals, ensuring that the men’s singles final will be an all-Revival showdown.
In one of the most thrilling quarter-final battles, Nibal Ahmed fought back from a set down to defeat the Philippines’ Kyle Adriel Basilio. After losing the opener 16–21, Nibal regained his rhythm and stormed through the next two sets 21–17, 21–18 to book his place in the last four. He will face Haisham Ibrahim Ali, who advanced after outclassing his teammate Adam Maheen Mohamed in straight sets, 21–19, 21–14.
On the other side of the draw, National Champion Zayan Zaki delivered a clinical performance against fellow Revival star Hoodh bin Hamid, winning comfortably 15–08, 15–08. He will take on Hassan Zayan Mohamed, who powered past Ayyoob Azhar Mohamed with a dominant 21–11, 21–11 victory.
Both semi-final clashes are scheduled for this evening at Kulhivaru Ekuveni Badminton Court. With all four semi-finalists representing Revival Sports, the club has already guaranteed its athletes will contest both spots in the men’s singles final.
This success follows the club’s sweep in the women’s singles category, where sisters Nabaha Abdul Razzaq and Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq are set for an all-Revival final, further underlining the academy’s unmatched strength at this year’s Junior Open.
