Revival Players Advance to Multiple Quarter-Finals at Botswana International
Revival Sports’ high-performance squad continues to make strong strides at the Botswana International 2025, with several players advancing to the quarter-finals across multiple categories.
Revival Sports team, consisting of Haisham Ibrahim Ali, Hassan Zayan, Zayan Zaki, Nibal Ahmed, Aminath Nabeeha (Naby), and Fathimath Nabaha (Naba), delivered a determined set of performances as they navigate their second stop on the African Tour.
In the men’s singles Round of 32, Revival faced stiff opposition from international contenders. Zayan Zaki fell 14–21, 14–21 to UAE’s Shashaank Sai Munnangi, while Haisham Ibrahim was defeated 10–21, 11–21 by India’s Himanshu Desai. Nibal Ahmed also exited the category following an 8–21, 13–21 loss to India’s Akshay Sai Jonnalagadda.
The women’s singles field brought brighter results for the Maldivian side. Aminath Nabeeha (Naby) dominated Botswana’s Fatima Joshua 21–12, 21–5 to secure her spot in the quarter-finals, where she will face Poland’s Gabriela Skorkowska. Fathimath Nabaha (Naba) also advanced convincingly, defeating Botswana’s Kopo Thabile Kgosidialwa 21–10, 21–5 and booking a quarter-final clash against India’s Anvitha Vijay.
Revival’s men’s doubles pairs delivered an excellent showing. Nibal and Zayan overcame Zimbabwe’s Trinity Chipumho and Ashel Dziva in a tightly contested 23–21, 21–8 win to reach the quarter-finals, where they will take on Mauritius duo Lucas Douce and Khemtish Rai Nundah. Meanwhile, Haisham and Hassan Zayan secured a composed 21–15, 21–16 victory against Uganda’s Fred Kirabo and Ivan Mayega, setting up a quarter-final meeting with India’s Tanmoy Bikash Boruah and Kuldeep Kamal.
In mixed doubles, the Maldivian pair Naba and Zayan are set for a quarter-final showdown against Botswana’s Tumelo Moilwa and Keletso Ntebela, while in women’s doubles, Naba and Naby have advanced to the semi-finals, where they will face Botswana’s Tessa Kabelo and Tebogo Ndzinge.
With multiple players now competing deep into the tournament, Revival Sports continues to build momentum and underline its growing international presence on the BWF circuit.
