Revival Sports Eydhafushi Holds Successful First-Ever Award Night to Honour Rising Badminton Talents
Revival Sports Eydhafushi successfully hosted its first-ever Revival Sports Eydhafushi Badminton Academy Award Night 2026, marking a major milestone for the academy as it celebrated the achievements, discipline, and dedication of its young athletes.
Held as a recognition of performances throughout 2025, the event brought together players, coaches, parents, supporters, and academy officials in Eydhafushi for an evening dedicated to honouring sporting excellence and personal growth within the academy.
According to the academy, the award night was launched to recognize the hard work, commitment, discipline, and success shown by players over the past year, while also establishing what organizers describe as the beginning of a long-term tradition.
Revival Sports Eydhafushi stated that the ceremony represents more than a celebration of victories on court, emphasizing values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, character building, and development beyond competition. The academy noted that the initiative aims to strengthen unity among members while reflecting on the academy’s journey and future ambitions.
The highest honours of the evening were awarded in the Best Athlete of the Year 2025 categories. In the male division, Yoosuf Alaf Bin Rilwan secured first place, followed by Awf Bin Fazloon in second and Risham Abdul Fathah in third. In the female division, Hawwa Naureen Mohamed claimed first place, with Azka Rilwan finishing second and Laara Mohamed Lathee taking third place. These awards recognized consistent performance, dedication, and impact across multiple age categories during the year.
In youth categories, Mariyam Enas Ilyas won Best Player of the Year Under 19 Girls, while Mohamed Aloof Rifau claimed first place in Under 19 Boys, ahead of Ahmed Ahnaf Mohamed Aflah. In the Under 17 Boys category, Mohamed Hayyan Bin Abdul Hannan finished first, followed by Abdulla Nawhaan Bin Mohammed Nasheed, with Ahmed Yanal Niyaz and Yoosuf Zeek Zuhan sharing third place.
The Under 15 Girls category saw Hawwa Naureen Mohamed collect another title, ahead of Azkaa Rilwan, while Laara Mohamed Latheef and Aishath Raisha Zakir shared third place. In Under 15 Boys, Awf Bin Fazloon secured first place, followed by Risham Abdul Fathah, while Eelaf Mohamed Ikram and Yoosuf Ethan Bin Shifaz shared third.
Among younger players, Aana Ibrahim Shaheed topped the Under 13 Girls category, ahead of Ashna Binthi Abdulla Rasheed, with Ileena Ali Shafeeg and Aishath Sajaa Ibrahim taking third place. In Under 13 Boys, Vilan Shafee Ali finished first, followed by Yoosuf Luyoon Ismail Shirhaan, while Ahmed Zaik Zaeem and Amaanullah Bin Azleef shared third place.
In the Under 11 Girls division, Erum Abdul Matheen secured first place, ahead of Ilva Abdulla Zaeem, while Alya Binth Mamnoon and Fathimath Noorain Zuhan shared third. Yoosuf Alaf Bin Rilswan continued his outstanding year by winning Under 11 Boys, followed by Thilaal Ibrahim Waheed, with Yoosuf Faathik Mohamed Nashid and Ahmed Azaan Azmath Abdul Rasheed sharing third place.
The youngest categories also highlighted emerging talent. Mishka Lisan won Under 9 Girls, followed by Eera Binth Mamnoon, while Yana Binth Hassan Niyaz and Aishath Kaileen Hussain shared third place. In Under 9 Boys, Ismail Nooh Bin Rilwan claimed first place, ahead of Aan Ibrahim Shaheed, with Izyan Shafee Ali and Yusuf Shaim Bin Abdul Salam sharing third.
A special part of the evening was dedicated to Special Recognition Awards, presented to institutions and businesses that supported the academy’s development throughout 2025. Honoured for their contribution were the Secretariat of South Maalhosmadulu Eydhafushi Council, Maldives Islamic Bank, Ministry of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation, G9 Traders, The Boot Room, Yoosuf Speed, White by 8S, and Seaview Bistrow. The academy thanked all supporters for their role in creating opportunities for young athletes and contributing to player development.
Revival Sports Eydhafushi operates in affiliation with Revival Sports, with a mission focused on nurturing young badminton talent capable of representing the Maldives at higher levels. Organizers said the success of the first award night reflects the academy’s growing commitment to building future athletes not only for national competition but also for international success.
