Revival Sports make strong impact at ongoing Eyadhafushi Badminton Cup 2025

Eyadhafushi, Maldives: The Eyadhafushi Badminton Cup 2025 is underway at the Eydhafushi Youth Center, with Revival Sports Badminton Academy (RSBA) and the Revival Sports High Performance Team (RS) making their presence felt across multiple categories.

The tournament, held from September 19 to 26, features 146 entries across 27 events, bringing together players from Malé, Naifaru, Addu, and host island Eydhafushi.

Revival Sports players are competing across junior and senior divisions, with academy shuttlers contesting events from Under-9 to Under-19, while two women’s doubles pairs are representing the academy in the Open category.

In the boys’ division, Adam Maheen Mohamed won his Under-19 singles match against teammate Ahmed Ayaan Bin Mohamed Solah in straight sets, 15-5, 15-9. In Under-13 singles, Mohamed Yuan Arafath Saeed defeated Vilan Shafee Ali 15-11, 15-7, before the pair later teamed up in doubles to overcome Kayyif Ahmed Iqbal (RSBA) and Umar Bin Adheel Moosa (AIBA) 15-12, 15-5.

Among the girls, Mariyam Mia Mamdhoon claimed victory in the Under-9 singles, beating Kaira Wasiu (RSBA) 15-1, 15-5. In Under-11 singles, Aisha Hajar Hanis Moosa (RSBA) battled past Dhaana Ali Wiam 15-7, 15-11. Aisha also paired with Luyuna Wasiu (RSBA) in the doubles, securing a 15-14, 15-7 win over Dhaana Ali Wiam and Mariyam Mia Mamdhoon.

Revival Sports also faced some close contests. In the Under-19 boys’ doubles, Adam Maheen Mohamed and Ahmed Ayaan Bin Mohamed Solah fell just short against Ahmed Yanal Niyaz and Ismail Shaikhoon Bin Hussain, losing 11-15, 15-11, 13-15. In girls’ singles Under-13, Aishath Nyam Saaidh (RSBA) lost to Laiba Ahmed Mahloof 8-15, 6-15, while in Under-19 doubles, Aishath Aileen Nadeem and Aishath Laina Rifau (RSBA) were beaten by Aishath Raisha Zakir and Laara Mohamed Latheef.

Still, Revival found more success in the Under-13 girls’ doubles, where Aishath Alaya Nadeem and Laiba Ahmed Mahloof triumphed over fellow RSBA pair Aishath Nyam Saaidh and Laisa Shazwan Ahmed in three games, 15-11, 15-6, 15-8.

With several matches left, Revival Sports athletes have already demonstrated both depth and promise, reflecting the academy’s crucial role in shaping the next generation of badminton in the Maldives. Their mix of emerging juniors and seasoned high-performance players has set a strong tone for the rest of the tournament.
