Revival Sports High Performance Team continues to shine on the international stage as Maldivian shuttlers secured three semifinal berths at the AQUASPRINGS South Africa International 2025.

The team delivered strong quarterfinal performances across Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, further solidifying Revival Sports’ growing presence in international badminton.

Leading the charge is Fathimath Nabaha (Naba), who earned a place in the Women’s Singles semifinal after a determined comeback victory over Mauritius’ Tiya Bhurtun, winning 18–21, 21–13, 21–16. She will now face South Africa’s Johanita Scholtz, the tournament’s second seed, in what promises to be a highly competitive semifinal clash.

In the Women’s Doubles, the consistent pairing of Naba and Aminath Nabeeha (Naby) advanced with an impressive 21–17, 21–13 win against South Africa’s Deborah Godfrey and Anri Schoonees. They are set to meet the Mauritian duo Chiara How Hong and Elsa How Hong in the semifinal later today.

Revival Sports’ third semifinal appearance comes in the Mixed Doubles, where Zayan Zaki and Naba continued their strong run by defeating South Africa’s Anthony Phillips and Anri Schoonees 24–22, 21–16. The pair will now take on South Africa’s Robert Summers and Amy Acherman for a place in the final.

Earlier in the quarterfinals, Naby put up a spirited fight in Women’s Singles before falling 21–19, 10–21, 15–21 to Saudi Arabia’s fourth seed Khadijah Kawthar. In Men’s Doubles, Nibal Ahmed and Zayan Zaki battled hard but were defeated 14–21, 13–21 by the Australian pair Avinash Srinivas and Ephraim Stephen.

Semifinal action for all three Maldivian entries is scheduled to take place later today, as Revival Sports aims to convert their impressive run into championship-final appearances.
