Revival Sports Trio Ready for Badminton Asia Championship in China

Three players from Revival Sports are set to represent the Maldives at the upcoming Badminton Asia Championship, which will be held in China from 7 to 12 April at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center.

The Maldivian contingent includes Zayan Zaki, Aminath Nabeeha (Naby) and Fathimath Nabaha (Naba), all of whom are part of both the national badminton squad and Revival Sports’ high-performance team.

The three athletes will compete in four separate events during the championship, with Maldives represented in men’s singles, women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Zayan will feature in the men’s singles event and mixed doubles. In men’s singles, he has been drawn in Group C alongside Sri Lanka’s Viren and Macau’s P Pui.

In mixed doubles, Zayan will partner Naba, with the pair placed in Group B against Hong Kong’s Chan Yin and Ng Tsz, as well as Bangladesh’s Jumar and Urmi.

Naba will compete in three events during the tournament. In addition to mixed doubles, she will play in women’s singles and women’s doubles.

Her women’s singles group includes Bangladesh’s Urmi and Kyrgyzstan’s Zhasmin, presenting another competitive test at continental level.

In women’s doubles, Nabaha teams up with her twin sister, Naby. The Maldivian duo are drawn in Group C with Indonesia’s Tay A J and Teo E K, together with Sri Lanka’s Hasini and Hasara.

Naby will focus on the doubles campaign, with the event expected to provide valuable high-level match exposure against experienced regional opponents.

Revival Sports coach Nashfan Mohamed travelled with the squad to China on Tuesday and will oversee preparations during the championship.

The tournament marks another significant international appearance for Revival Sports athletes as the club continues to build competitive experience for its players on the Asian stage.
