Revival wins 3 golds and total 7 medals at MBA International
Revival Sports Club delivered an outstanding performance at the MBA International Badminton Tournament, winning three gold medals, one silver, and three bronze.
The club was represented by Zayan Zaki, Hassan Zayan, and Nibal Ahmed, together with National Squad players Aminath Nabeeha and Fathimath Nabaha.
Revival Sports took the initiative to participate in the tournament, seizing the opportunity to enhance their skills by competing against players of diverse playing styles and levels.
The team was led by Coach Mohamed Nashfan, whose guidance proved vital to their success.
Revival’s gold medals came from:
Men’s Doubles: Zayan Zaki & Nibal Ahmed
Women’s Doubles: Aminath Nabeeha & Fathimath Nabaha
Mixed Doubles: Zayan Zaki & Fathimath Nabaha
The silver medal was earned by Fathimath Nabaha in Women’s Singles.
Bronze medals went to:
Mixed Doubles: Aminath Nabeeha & Nibal Ahmed
Men’s Singles: Nibal Ahmed
Women’s Singles: Aminath Nabeeha
Coach Nashfan noted that while Revival’s primary aim is to compete in BWF-sanctioned tournaments, the suspension imposed on the Maldives Badminton Association (BAM) by the BWF has prevented their participation.
“Despite these challenges, we chose to compete in Malaysia. This success gives us hope during a crucial time, and I’m delighted with the progress we’re making,” he said.
The MBA International featured competitors from ten countries, with matches contested in a single-set format to 31 points. Upon returning to the Maldives, the players and Coach Nashfan received a warm welcome from senior officials of Maldives Sports.
