Revival Sports and Maldives national badminton stars, Nibal Ahmed and Zayan Zaki, will go head-to-head for the Men’s Open Singles crown at the Dhiraagu Maldives Junior Open 2025.

The pair sealed their spots in the final after winning their respective all-Revival semi-final clashes.

In one of the day’s most thrilling encounters, Zayan Zaki faced Hassan Zayan in a three-set battle. Hassan started strong, taking the first set 21–11, but Zayan showed his trademark composure under pressure. He rallied back with sharp attacking play to claim the next two sets 13–21 and 12–21, booking his place in the final.

On the other side, Nibal Ahmed eased past Haisham Ibrahim Ali with a dominant performance. Nibal controlled the match from the start, winning convincingly in straight sets, 21–03 and 21–12.

This sets up another highly anticipated showdown between two of Maldives’ finest players. Nibal and Zayan last met in the national singles final across the past two editions. Nibal clinched the title in 2022, while Zayan responded in 2023 to reclaim glory. Notably, Zayan first won the national singles title back in 2017. This year, Zayan won the Naifaru Open, National category singles title after defeating Nibal.

The Junior Open final promises to be another exciting chapter in their growing rivalry, as both players aim to add yet another prestigious title to their careers. The match will take place this Saturday at the Kulhivaru Ekuveni Badminton Court.
