Two Bangladesh national-level badminton players, Sibgat Ullah and Galib Ullah, have joined Revival Sports’ historic two-month training camp in Malaysia, further strengthening the international high-performance environment created by the Maldivian club.

The Bangladesh duo are currently training and playing sparring matches alongside Revival Sports’ High Performance Team and Under-23 Squad as they prepare for the PETRONAS Malaysia International Series 2026, scheduled to be held from 1 to 6 September.

Their presence provides Revival Sports athletes with another valuable opportunity to train against players from different badminton backgrounds and playing styles, while also creating an international training environment ahead of the upcoming tournament.

Galib Ullah brings additional international experience to the camp as a recipient of the Badminton Asia Asian Olympic Program scholarship for LA2028.

Speaking about his experience training with the Maldivian players, Sibgat praised the atmosphere created within the camp.

“We are currently in Malaysia training and playing matches alongside Team Maldives. Everyone has been incredibly polite and humble, and the coaches are exceptionally supportive. Best of luck to Team Maldives and Revival Sports,” Sibgat said.

Galib also highlighted the intensity of the training environment and the hospitality shown by the Revival Sports delegation.

“We are currently in Malaysia undergoing intensive training and sparring sessions with Team Maldives. The hospitality has been outstanding—everyone is incredibly polite, humble, and the coaching staff is highly supportive. Wishing Team Maldives the absolute best, and thanks to Revival Sports for their incredible support,” Galib said.

The inclusion of the Bangladesh players is the latest development in Revival Sports’ ongoing overseas programme, which began on 28 July 2026.

The club initially traveled to Malaysia with a 12-member delegation, comprising athletes from its High Performance Team and Under-23 Squad alongside two coaches. The camp forms a key part of Revival Sports’ IOIG 2027 Development Project, a long-term initiative aimed at strengthening the Maldives’ medal prospects through sustained international training, high-level sparring and competitive exposure.

The first travelling squad included Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba), Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq (Naby), Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki, Hassan Zayan Mohamed, Haisham Ibrahim Ali, Mohamed Khalaf Imraan, Ahmed Ayaan Bin Mohamed Solah, Ayyoob Azhar Mohamed, Ibrahim Nashith Hamdi, Head Coach Mohamed Nashfan, Coach Nasheeu Sharafuddeen and Hussain Raushaan.

Player Nibal Ahmed and coach Riaz Mohamed later joined the delegation following a local competition held in Malé.

The Malaysia camp has already achieved several important milestones. Revival Sports athletes competed at the PETRONAS Malaysia International Challenge 2026, while the squad has also played high-level training matches against Algeria and Malaysia national-level players.

The arrival of Sibgat and Galib adds another layer to those opportunities, giving the Revival Sports players further access to quality opposition as they prepare for the Malaysia International Series.

International sparring and tournament competition are central objectives of the two-month camp, which has provided the athletes with increased court time, access to quality opponents and opportunities to immediately apply lessons learned during intensive training.

The ongoing presence of national-level players from Bangladesh also highlights the increasingly international nature of Revival Sports’ Malaysia camp, bringing athletes from different countries together in a shared high-performance environment.

For Revival Sports, the camp represents a significant investment in the long-term development of Maldivian badminton. Every training session, sparring match and international tournament is designed to provide athletes with the experience and confidence required to compete at a higher level.

As the PETRONAS Malaysia International Series 2026 approaches, the Bangladesh duo’s involvement provides another important opportunity for the Revival Sports squad to test itself against different styles of play, while continuing its preparations towards the club’s wider IOIG 2027 medal ambitions and other future international targets.
