Revival Sports has achieved a remarkable clean sweep of all five senior Division 1 finals at the 50th National Badminton Tournament, guaranteeing the club every gold and silver medal across the men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles events.

The biggest highlights are the two all-Revival singles finals, with Haisham Ibrahim Ali facing former National Champion Nibal Ahmed in the Men’s Singles final, while defending champion Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq (Naby) meets former National Champion Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) in the Women’s Singles final.

The unprecedented run means Revival Sports athletes will contest all five Division 1 finals, ensuring the club will finish the senior competition with five gold and five silver medals.

Haisham and Nibal Headline Men’s Singles Final

Nibal booked his place in the Men’s Singles final after defeating fellow Revival player Hassan Zayan Mohamed 16-14, 15-10 in a closely contested semi-final.

On the other side of the draw, Haisham Ibrahim Ali produced one of the tournament’s biggest results, defeating defending champion Zayan Zaki in three games, 15-6, 11-15, 15-4. The victory sends Haisham into his first-ever Division 1 Men’s Singles final. The former Atoll League singles champion, Haisham will now face former National Champion Nibal in an all-Revival final, guaranteeing the national title will remain with a Revival Sports athlete.

Naba and Naby Set All-Revival Women’s Singles Final

The Women’s Singles final will also be an all-Revival affair between twin sisters. Defending champion Naby defeated Laiba Ahmed Mahloof 15-8, 15-6 in the semi-final to reach another national final and keep her title defence alive. She will face fellow Revival star and former National Champion Naba, who produced a commanding semi-final performance against Kiyaan Adil Mohamed, winning 15-1, 15-4.

The final therefore brings together the defending champion and former champion, guaranteeing another gold and silver medal for Revival Sports.

Revival Sports will also contest both sides of the Men’s Doubles final.

Zayan Zaki and Nibal began their key knockout run with a 15-13, 15-9 quarter-final victory over Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed and Yoonus Kaif Mohamed. They then produced an emphatic semi-final performance, defeating Asir Nizar and Ibrahim Husham 15-9, 15-4 to reach the final. They will face fellow Revival pairing Haisham Ibrahim Ali and Mohamed Khalaf Imran.

Haisham and Khalaf also had to negotiate a tough quarter-final, defeating Ibrahim Shamiu and Yaugoob Alveen Bin Husham 15-12, 13-15, 15-9. They followed that with a straight-games semi-final victory over Ahmed Ayaan Bin Mohamed Solah and Hassan Zayan Mohamed, winning 16-14, 15-11. The all-Revival Men’s Doubles final guarantees another gold and silver medal for the club.

Revival’s dominance continued in the Women’s Doubles. Naba and Naby defeated Aishath Nyam Saaid and Laisa Shazwan Ahmed 15-4, 15-2 in the semi-final to secure their place in the final. They will face another Revival pairing, Maisa Fathuhulla and Aishath Afnaan Rasheed.

Maisa and Afnan earned their final berth after defeating Aishath Zoya Hussain and Shuba Mohamed Shareef 15-9, 15-12.Once again, the final guarantees both gold and silver for Revival Sports.

The club’s complete takeover of the Division 1 finals is completed by the Mixed Doubles event. Zayan Zaki and Naba defeated fellow Revival pair Haisham Ibrahim Ali and Maisa Fathuhulla 15-12, 15-13 in the semi-final. They will meet Nibal Ahmed and Naby, who secured their place in the final with a 15-8, 15-6 victory over Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed and Aishath Yooha Ahmed.

The Mixed Doubles final therefore provides another all-Revival battle and another guaranteed gold and silver medal.
