Malaysia Camp Marks Start of Revival Sports’ European BWF Tournament Tour
Six athletes from the Revival Sports High Performance Team have departed for Malaysia to begin an intensive two-week overseas training camp as part of preparations for a busy international campaign featuring four BWF-sanctioned tournaments across Asia and Europe.
The squad left Maldives on June 1 and will undergo high-performance training in Malaysia before travelling to the Czech Republic on June 14 to commence their European tour.
The international programme represents one of the most significant overseas campaigns undertaken by Revival Sports, providing athletes with valuable exposure against international competition while contributing to preparations for future regional and international events.
The six-player squad consists of national team players Nibal Ahmed, Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki, Hassan Zayan Mohamed, Mohamed Khalaf Imraan, Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba), and Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq (Naby).
Revival Sports high performance team Coach Nashfan Mohamed also travels with the squad.
European Tournament Schedule
Following the training camp in Malaysia, the team will compete in three BWF-sanctioned tournaments across Europe.
The first event will be the Czech International Future Series 2026, scheduled from June 18 to 21 in the Czech Republic. The team will then travel to Italy for the Yonex Italy Open 2026, which will take place from June 24 to 28.
The European campaign will conclude in France at the FZ Forza Future Series Nouvelle-Aquitaine 2026, scheduled from July 2 to 5.
Additional Tournament in Thailand
Before departing for Europe, four members of the squad will make a stop in Thailand to compete in the TOYOTA Phuket International Challenge 2026, which will be held from June 9 to 14 in Phuket.
The athletes selected for the Thailand event are Nibal, Zayan Zaki, Fathimath Naba and Naby.
Their participation will provide additional international match experience ahead of the European leg of the tour.
Multiple Event Entries
Revival Sports athletes are scheduled to compete across all major categories during the European tournaments.
In men’s singles, Nibal, Zayan Zaki and Hassan Zayan will represent the club. The women’s singles draw will feature Naba and Naby.
In men’s doubles, Nibal and Zayan Zaki will partner together, while Hassan Zayan will team up with Khalaf.
The women’s doubles category will see sisters Naba and Naby compete as a pair.
Revival Sports will also field two mixed doubles partnerships, with Nibal partnering Naby, while Zayan Zaki will pair up with Naba.
Key Step in IOIG 2027 Development Programme
The overseas campaign forms part of Revival Sports’ broader high-performance development pathway aimed at increasing international exposure for its athletes and strengthening preparations for major future competitions, including the Indian Ocean Island Games 2027.
With four international tournaments and several weeks of overseas training scheduled across Malaysia, Thailand and Europe, the tour is expected to provide the athletes with valuable experience competing against higher-ranked international opponents while earning crucial BWF ranking points on the world circuit.
