Revival Sports pair Fathimath Nabaha (Naba) and Aminath Nabeeha (Naby) have reached the women’s doubles Round of 16 at the PETRONAS Malaysia International Challenge 2026 in Ipoh, continuing their strong run during Revival Sports’ ongoing two-month training camp in Malaysia.

The tournament is being held from 11–16 August 2026, with three Revival Sports athletes, Naba, Naby and Zayan Zaki, competing across singles and doubles events.

Naba and Naby opened their women’s doubles campaign with a convincing 21-14, 21-9 victory over Malaysian pair D. Chang and X. Goh. The Maldivian duo will now face Japanese pair M. Anami and R. Kiyama in the Round of 16.

The pair’s progress provides another valuable opportunity to test themselves against international opposition as part of Revival Sports’ extended Malaysia training camp.

In the men’s singles, Zayan Zaki’s campaign ended in the qualifying round after he was defeated by Saudi Arabia’s eighth-seeded Mehad Shaik, 21-7, 21-13.

In women’s singles, Naba entered the main draw, while Naby competed through qualifying. Naby was defeated by top-seeded Nana Hisaminto of Japan, 21-9, 21-7, while Naba lost to India’s Rujula Ramu, 21-7, 21-12.

The mixed doubles campaign of Zayan and Naba also came to an end in the Round of 32, with Malaysian pair M. Azman and S. Nurushuhani securing a 21-13, 21-9 victory.

The tournament forms part of Revival Sports’ ongoing two-month overseas training camp in Malaysia, where its High Performance Team and Under-23 Squad are undertaking intensive training and gaining exposure through international competition.

The Malaysia camp is designed to provide the athletes with sustained access to quality training facilities, high-level sparring and competitive experience as the club continues its long-term athlete development project and preparations for major international competitions.
