Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) has once again established her dominance in Maldivian badminton, defeating her twin sister Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq (Naby) to claim her fifth National Women’s Singles title at the 50th National Badminton Tournament.

The victory also completed a remarkable tournament for Revival Sports, with all five Division 1 senior-category finals contested by Revival Sports athletes, guaranteeing the club every gold and silver medal across the five events. Naba and Naby met in the Women’s Singles final, repeating the same all-Revival showdown seen at the recent Badminton Association Championship.

Just as she did in that competition, Naba overcame her twin sister in straight games, winning 15-6, 15-12 to reclaim the national singles crown.

Fifth National Singles Title for Naba

The latest victory takes Naba’s National Women’s Singles title tally to five. She previously won the national championship in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022. Her run of singles titles was interrupted in 2023, when she lost the National final to her twin sister Naby.

Naba has now returned to the top of the national singles podium, adding another championship to one of the most successful singles records in Maldivian women’s badminton. The result also mirrors her recent success against Naby at the Badminton Association Championship, where the two sisters again met in the singles final.

Doubles Success Adds to Naba’s Golden Campaign

Naba’s tournament success did not stop with the Women’s Singles title. She also captured the Women’s Doubles championship alongside Naby, defeating fellow Revival Sports pairing Maisa Fathuhulla Ismail and Aishath Afnan Rasheedh 15-4, 15-8 in the final.

The victory marks the sixth time Naba and Naby have won the National Women’s Doubles title, further strengthening their record as one of the most successful doubles partnerships in Maldivian badminton.

Naba then added another title in the Mixed Doubles, partnering Zayan Zaki. The pair faced Nibal Ahmed and Naby in another all-Revival final. After losing the opening game 11-15, Naba and Zayan fought back to take the second 15-13, before edging a dramatic deciding game 17-15 to secure the championship.
