Naby Advances as Revival Sports Begin Czech International Future Series Campaign
Revival Sports and National Badminton team player, Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq (Naby) secured a winning start at the Czech International Future Series 2026, progressing to the next stage of the women’s singles competition after a straight-games victory in the qualification round.
Competing in the BWF-sanctioned tournament in the Czech Republic, Naby defeated home player Kristyna Kozakova 21-11, 21-10 to book her place in the next round. She will now face Estonia’s Marija Paskotsi on Friday for a place in the main draw.
Naby’s victory was the highlight of the opening day for the Maldivian club, with several other Revival Sports athletes also beginning their European campaign.
In the men’s singles qualification rounds, Hassan Zayan Mohamed, Nibal Ahmed, and Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki (Zayan Zaki) were all eliminated despite competitive performances.
Hassan Zayan went down 21-7, 21-7 to Czech player Tedeas Brazda, while Nibal narrowly missed out against Greece’s Evangelos Anastasiou, losing 22-20, 21-18 in a closely contested match. Zayan Zaki was defeated by India’s Bhargav Somasundara 21-13, 21-09.
Attention now turns to Friday’s matches, with several Revival Sports players set to compete across multiple categories.
In women’s singles, Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) will begin her campaign in the Round of 32, while Naby continues her qualification journey.
The club will also feature in two mixed doubles Round of 32 matches. Naba and Zayan Zaki are scheduled to face Ukrainian pair Artem Synytsia and Kseniia Rozhkova, while Naby and Nibal Ahmed will take on Mayan Mogilner and Heli Neiman.
In men’s doubles, Zayan Zaki and Nibal Ahmed will meet International duo Adam Travinskiy and Mark Aronchik, while Hassan Zayan and Mohamed Khalaf Imraan face Ukraine’s Vladyslav Kunin and Yegor Romniuk.
The Czech International Future Series marks the first stop of Revival Sports’ European tour, which forms part of the club’s broader international development programme and preparations for future regional and international competitions.
