Revival Sports and Maldives national badminton player Nibal Ahmed reached the second round of the men’s singles qualifying phase at the 51st VICTOR FZ FORZA Hungarian International Championships, recording a convincing victory over Türkiye’s Muhammad Eren Bilgen before his campaign ended against Germany’s Karl Sufryd.

Nibal opened his qualifying campaign with a straight-games victory over Bilgen, winning 21–11, 21–12 to advance to the second round. However, his progress came to an end against German player Karl Sufryd, who defeated the Maldivian 21–10, 21–8.

The Hungarian International Championships, scheduled from 28 to 31 October, is the second stop on Revival Sports’ three-tournament European campaign. The tour began at the Hellas International 2026 in Greece from 20 to 23 October and will conclude at the FZ FORZA Norwegian International from 5 to 8 November.

Other Revival Sports players also competed in the Hungarian tournament’s qualifying rounds. In men’s singles, Hassan Zayan Mohamed was defeated by Netherlands player Vihaan Shah, losing 21–8, 21–15. In women’s singles qualifying, Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq, (Naby), lost to Türkiye’s Elifnur Demir 21–15, 21–9.

Nibal’s Hungarian campaign follows a busy opening tournament in Greece, where Revival Sports’ twin sisters, Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) and Naby, reached the women’s doubles quarter-finals at the Hellas International. It was the second time this year that the pair had advanced to the last eight of a European Badminton World Federation (BWF) Circuit tournament, having also reached the quarter-finals at an event in Italy earlier in the season.

Naba and Naby secured their place in the quarter-finals with a straight-games victory over Bulgarian pair G. Pavlova and T. Pavlova, winning 21–15, 21–15 in the round of 16. Their run ended in the quarter-finals, where they lost 21–8, 21–18 to Danish pair Jonassen and Viscovich.

Naby also reached the mixed doubles round of 16 alongside Nibal. The pair began their campaign with a 21–11, 21–9 victory over J. Casaru and Abela in the round of 32 before losing 21–14, 21–12 to German pair Zhang and Stomel.

In men’s doubles, Nibal and Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki (Zayan Zaki) advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Greek players Kapoukranidis and Polizoakis 21–16, 21–6. Their campaign ended against Turkish pair G. Gol and M. Seven, who won 21–16, 21–13.

Hassan Zayan also competed in the men’s singles qualifying rounds at the Hellas International but was defeated by Bulgarian player Ruptsov 21–8, 21–7. Meanwhile, Zayan Zaki and Naba contested mixed doubles, losing 21–9, 21–9 to Portuguese pair David Silva and Marta Sousa.

The five Revival Sports athletes representing the club on the European tour are Zayan Zaki, Nibal, Hassan Zayan Mohamed, Naba and Naby. Their participation across three international tournaments provides opportunities to compete against international opposition, gain valuable match experience and continue their development.

Following the Hungarian International Championships, the team’s European campaign will conclude at the FZ FORZA Norwegian International from 5 to 8 November.

For the remaining tournaments, Zayan Zaki is entered in men’s doubles and mixed doubles in Hungary, while Naba is scheduled to compete in women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Naby is entered in women’s singles and women’s doubles, Nibal in men’s singles and men’s doubles, and Hassan Zayan in men’s singles.

At the Norwegian International, Zayan Zaki is scheduled to compete in men’s singles and mixed doubles, Naba in women’s doubles and mixed doubles, and Naby in women’s singles and women’s doubles.
