Revival Sports Dominate Open Category as Club Secures Multiple Semi-Final Spots at Badminton Association Championship

Revival Sports delivered a commanding display in the open category of the ongoing Badminton Association Championship 2026, with the club’s athletes securing multiple semi-final places across men’s singles, women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events.

The club’s dominance was particularly evident in the men’s singles quarter-finals, where all four winners represented Revival Sports.

Top seed Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki advanced comfortably after defeating Ayyoob Azhar Mohamed 15-5, 15-5, while Hassan Zayan Mohamed overcame Mohamed Hishaam Latheef 15-4, 15-11. Second seed Nibal Ahmed edged past Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed in straight sets, winning 15-11, 15-12, and third seed Haisham Ibrahim Ali cruised to victory over Ahmed Azaan Adam Faisal by 15-6, 15-5.

The women’s singles category also saw strong performances from Revival Sports athletes. Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) produced another dominant performance to defeat Laiba Ahmed Mahloof 15-3, 15-4, while Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq (Naby) secured a convincing 15-7, 15-2 win against Aishath Zoya Hussain. Elsewhere, Yalvee Hussain Zuhury and Shuba Mohamed Shareef also progressed to the semi-finals following hard-fought victories.

In the women’s doubles quarter-finals, Naba and Naby continued their impressive run with a commanding 15-9, 15-3 victory over Laiba and Yalvee to secure a semi-final berth. Another tightly contested encounter saw Fathimath Imthisal Saudulla and Mariyam Shafaahath edge past Aminath Farha Faroozan and Kiyaan Adil Mohamed in three sets, winning 15-11, 13-15, 16-14.

Revival Sports also impressed in the men’s doubles competition. Haisham and Mohamed Khalaf Imraan booked their place in the semi-finals after defeating Binay Rai and Mohammed Nurer Nobi 15-11, 15-7. Top seeds Hussein Zayan Zaki and Nibal were equally dominant, overcoming Hassan Afsheen Shaheem and Hishaam 15-7, 15-8.

The club’s strength in mixed doubles was highlighted by two Revival Sports pairings reaching the semi-finals. Zayan Zaki and Naba advanced after defeating Ali Muaz and Fathimath Shanna 15-5, 15-6, while Nibal Ahmed and Naby secured a comfortable 15-3, 15-6 victory over Hussain Rifau and Aminath Amna Ali Amir.

Semi-final action is scheduled to begin today from 16:00, with Revival Sports athletes heavily represented across all open category events. In mixed doubles, Nibal Ahmed and Naby will face Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed and Aishath Yooha Ahmed, while Zayan Zaki and Naba take on Mohamed Hisham Latheef and Nafha Nasrullah.

The women’s singles semi-finals will feature Naby against Shuba Mohamed Shareef, while Naba is set to meet Yalvee. In the men’s singles, Zayan Mohamed will battle Nibal, while top seed Zayan Zaki faces Haisham in another highly anticipated clash.

Women’s doubles will see Naba and Naby paired against Fathimath Imthisal Saudulla and Mariyam Shafaahath, while the men’s doubles semi-finals include Zayan Zaki and Nibal against Hamza Abdul Rahman and Yoosuf Niyaz. Haisham and Khalaf will also continue their campaign against Ahmed Thoif Mohamed and Riaz Mohamed.
