Revival Sports Reach Men’s Team Event Final to Battle for National Title

Revival Sports will face Police Club in the final of the First Division Men’s Team Event at the 50th National Badminton Tournament, after securing a commanding 3–1 victory over Elite Warriors Sports Club in the second semi-final.

With eight teams divided into two groups, Revival entered the competition with two men’s teams placed in the same group. The club’s strong campaign has now resulted in Revival Sports advancing to the championship match, while Revival Badminton Club also featured in the semi-finals.

In the second semi-final, Revival Sports defeated Elite Warriors Sports Club 3–1, with Jelang Fajar, Surya Adi Pambudi, Nibal Ahmed, and the Jelang Fajar–Nasheeu doubles partnership contributing to the victory.

Jelang Fajar opened the tie with a convincing 15–1, 15–5 win over Yoonus Kaif Mohamed. Elite Warriors responded in the second singles match, where Abeywicrama Dumindu Warnaka defeated Surya Adi Pambudi 15–13, 13–15, 15–13 in a closely contested three-game encounter.

Revival Sports regained the advantage through Nibal Ahmed, who produced a dramatic comeback against Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed. After losing the opening game 13–15, Nibal responded strongly to win the second game 15–2 before securing the deciding game 18–16.

The decisive point came in the first doubles match, where Jelang Fajar and Nasheeu defeated Dumindu and Arsalan 15–12, 15–8, sealing Revival Sports’ place in the final.

Earlier, Revival Badminton Club faced Police Club in the first semi-final but suffered a 3–1 defeat.

Police Club took the opening point through Prinyawat Thongnuam, who defeated Hassan Zayan Mohamed 15–7, 15–3. Revival Badminton Club levelled the tie after Zayan Zaki secured a 15–6, 15–2 victory over Ibrahim Husham.

Police Club then regained the lead when Prince Dahal defeated Haisham Ibrahim Ali 15–9, 15–13. The Police Club doubles pair of Thoif and Prinyawat subsequently defeated Haisham and Zayan Zaki 15–11, 15–8 to complete the 3–1 victory and advance to the final.

The all-important final between Revival Sports and Police Club is scheduled for 8:00 PM on 20 September. The match will determine the First Division Men’s Team Event champion, with Revival Sports aiming to complete its strong campaign by securing the national title.
