Revival Sports Reach Women’s Team Final at 50th National Badminton Tournament

Revival Sports have reached the final of the First Division Women’s Team Event at the 50th National Badminton Tournament after producing a dominant 5-0 victory over Elite Warriors Sports Club.

Revival Sports completed a clean sweep in the semi-final, winning all three singles matches and both doubles encounters without dropping a game. Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) opened the tie in the first singles, defeating Aminath Amna Ali Amir 15-8, 15-8.

Nurani Ratu Azzahra then extended Revival’s advantage with a 15-5, 15-4 victory over Laisa Shazwan Ahmed in the second singles. In the third singles, Aminath Nabeeha (Naby) secured another straight-game win, defeating Merenghe Sanadhi Dahamsa 15-8, 15-12.

The doubles pairings then completed the dominance.

Azzahra and Maisa defeated Yooha and Amna 15-7, 15-9 in the first doubles, before Naba and Naby completed the 5-0 victory with a 15-4, 15-6 win over Laisa and Merenghe Sanadhi.

The result sends Revival Sports into the First Division Women’s Team Event final, continuing the club’s strong campaign at this year’s landmark 50th National tournament.

Revival Sports have also made a strong start in the First Division Men’s Team Event, where eight teams are divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

Two Revival teams are competing in the same group.

Revival Badminton Club opened its campaign with a 4-1 victory over Rising Star for Vilufushee Recreation, while Revival Sports recorded a commanding 5-0 win over T-Rex Sports Academy in their opening matches.

The two Revival sides then met in their second group match, with Revival Sports securing a 4-1 victory over Revival Badminton Club.

In the first men’s singles match, Jelang Fajar defeated Ayyoob Azhar Mohamed 15-5, 15-3.

Surya Adi Pambudi then beat Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki 15-6, 15-3 in the second singles.

Revival Badminton Club responded in the third singles, where Hassan Zayan Mohamed defeated Adam Maheen Mohamed 15-4, 15-4.

Revival Sports, however, sealed the team victory by taking both doubles matches.

Jelang Fajar and Nasheeu Sharafuddeen defeated Haisham Ibrahim Ali and Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki 15-12, 15-5, while Ali Sharmeel and Surya Adi Pambudi defeated Hassan Zayan Mohamed and Mohamed Khalaf Imraan 15-11, 15-8.

With the women’s team already through to the final and both men’s teams competing for semi-final places, Revival Sports continue to maintain a strong presence across the First Division team events at the landmark 50th National Badminton Tournament.
