Revival Sports Shuttlers Eye Spots at Badminton Asia Regionals
Athletes from Revivals Sports Badminton Academy have been officially selected to compete in the National Selection Trials for the Badminton Asia Regional Championships 2026.
The regional championship scheduled to take place from 1–7 April 2026 in Islamabad, Pakistan. The athletes will compete in the Under-16 and Under-23 categories as they vie for a place in the junior national squad.
Representing the Revival Sports academy in the Under-16 division are Aishath Laina Rifau (Girls), Ahmed Akil Masuood (Boys), and Mohamed Aydhin Anwar (Boys).
In the Under-23 category, Aishath Alisha Moosa (Girls), Adam Maheen Mohamed (Boys), and Ahmed Ayaan Bin Mohamed Solah (Boys) will take part in the trials.
In addition, Revival Sports Eydhfaushi will field 10 athletes across five categories in the selection trials. Competing in the Under-16 Girls division are Azkaa Rilwan and Aishath Raisha Zakir, while Risham Abdul Fathah and Yoosuf Ethan Bin Shifaz will represent the Under-16 Boys category.
In the Under-19 Girls division, Laara Mohamed Latheef and Hawwa Naureen Mohamed will compete, with Mohamed Hayyan Bin Abdul Hannan and Mohamed Aloof Rifau participating in the Under-19 Boys category. The Under-23 Boys division will feature Mohamed Ahnaf Aflah and Ahmed Yanal Niyaz.
The selection trials are expected to be closely contested, with 11 athletes competing in Under-16 Girls, 13 in Under-16 Boys, seven in Under-19 Girls, eight in Under-19 Boys, four in Under-23 Girls, and 10 in Under-23 Boys.
From each age category, Under-16, Under-19, and Under-23 , two male and two female players will be selected to represent the junior national squad at the Badminton Asia Regional Championships 2026.
The main national selection tournament will be held from 27 February to 2 March 2026 at the Male’ Ekuveni Indoor Stadium.
The event will bring together top junior shuttlers from across the country in a highly competitive selection process.
