Revival Sports has delivered a dominant performance at the 50th National Badminton Tournament, securing multiple semi-final places across the singles and women’s doubles competitions, including all four semi-final spots in the First Division Men’s Singles.

The remarkable men’s singles run sees Zayan Zaki, Nibal Ahmed, Hassan Zayan Mohamed and Haisham Ibrahim Ali through to the semi-finals, creating an all-Revival last four.

The achievement is particularly significant because the four men’s singles semi-finalists are exactly the same four players who reached the semi-finals of the Badminton Association Championship, once again underlining Revival Sports’ strength and depth at the top level of Maldivian badminton.

All-Revival Men’s Singles Semi-Finals

Defending champion Zayan Zaki continued his title defence with two convincing victories in the knockout stages.

Zayan Zaki defeated fellow Revival player Ahmed Akil Masouod 15-7, 15-10 in the Round of 16 before producing another strong performance in the quarter-final, defeating Ayyoob Azhar Mohamed 15-4, 15-9. His semi-final opponent will be Haisham Ibrahim Ali, setting up an all-Revival battle for a place in the final. Haisham reached the semi-finals after defeating Awf Bin Fazloon 15-4, 15-13 in the Round of 16. He then overcame Ahmed Azaan Adam Faisal 15-8, 15-7 in the quarter-final.

On the other side of the draw, Nibal Ahmed defeated Risham Abdul Fathah 15-6, 15-6 in the Round of 16. Nibal then faced former National Champion Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed in the quarter-final, securing a 15-11, 15-7 victory to book his place in the final four. Nibal will face fellow Revival player Hassan Zayan Mohamed in the second semi-final. Hassan defeated Mohamed Aydhin Anwar 15-8, 15-3 in the Round of 16 before eliminating another Revival teammate, Adam Maheen Mohamed, 15-6, 15-6 in the quarter-final.

The semi-final line-up therefore reads:

The all-Revival semi-final line-up represents one of the clearest demonstrations yet of the club’s growing dominance in the country’s senior men’s singles competition.

Revival Sports will also have two representatives in the First Division Women’s Singles semi-finals, with Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq (Naba) and Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq (Naby) both progressing through the quarter-finals.

Naba defeated Aminath Amra Ali Amir 15-10, 15-3 in the quarter-final. Naby followed with a straight-games victory over Yalvee Hussain Zuhury, winning 15-9, 15-8.

Naba will now face Kiyaan Adil Mohamed in the semi-final, while Naby will take on Laiba Ahmed Mahloof. Both Revival players therefore remain in contention for the women’s singles title.

Revival Sports has also made a major impact in the First Division Women’s Doubles, with three Revival-associated pairings reaching the semi-finals. Aishath Nyam Saaid (RSBA) and Laisa Shazwan Ahmed (AIBA) defeated Aminath Farha Faroozan and Kiyaan Adil Mohamed 15-12, 15-13 in the quarter-final.

They now face the all-Revival pairing of Fathimath Nabaaha and Aminath Nabeeha in the semi-final.

In the other half of the draw, Aishath Afnaan Rasheed and Maisa Fathuhulla Ismail defeated Laiba Ahmed Mahloof and Yalvee Hussain Zuhury 15-9, 15-8. Afnan and Maisa will face Aishath Zoya Hussaina and Shuba Mohamed Shareef in the semi-final.

With three Revival representatives across the two semi-finals, the club has once again established a strong presence in the women’s doubles competition. The club’s campaign extends beyond the singles events, with several players continuing their runs in the doubles competitions.

In today’s men’s doubles quarter-final, Zayan Zaki and Nibal Ahmed will take on Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed and Yoonus Kaif Mohamed.

Another men’s doubles quarter-final will see Hassan Zayan Mohamed and Ahmed Ayaan Bin Mohamed Solah face Ahmed Falah Faroozan and Izyaan Abdulla Saeed.

Revival players will also feature in the Mixed Doubles quarter-finals.

Nibal Ahmed and Aminath Nabeeha will face Yaugoob Alveen Bin Husham and Aishath Laina Rifau.

Meanwhile, Haisham Ibrahim Ali and Maisa Fathuhulla Ismail will take on Ibrahim Shamiu and Shuba Mohamed Shareef.

The winner of the Haisham-Maisa quarter-final will advance to the semi-final against Zayan Zaki and Fathimath Nabaaha, giving Revival another potential route to the Mixed Doubles final.
