The 50th National Badminton Tournament has officially got underway at the Kulhivaru Ekuveni Badminton Court, with Revival Sports setting its sights on a historic campaign and podium finishes across the top division categories.

The tournament is being held from 11 to 20 September 2026, with the junior competitions beginning first before the senior divisions take centre stage.

The landmark 50th edition features competition across junior singles, doubles and mixed doubles, as well as Division 1 and Division 2 senior events and team competitions.

For, Revival Sports, the tournament represents an important opportunity to measure the progress made through an intensive international development training camp. The club recently completed a historic two-month training camp in Malaysia, where its athletes undertook sustained high-performance training and competed in two international tournaments.

The experience provided valuable exposure to international competition, high-level sparring and different playing styles, while helping the athletes sharpen various aspects of their game ahead of the Nationals.

Revival Sports is now aiming to translate that progress into historic success at the National Tournament, with the club specifically targeting podium finishes in the top division categories.

The club will field teams across the tournament, with two men’s teams and one women’s team entered in the team events.

The High Performance Team and Under-23 Squad will feature 12 athletes, nine male and three female, competing in Division 1 individual and team events.

Revival Sports Badminton Academy will have 24 athletes competing across all junior categories, as well as Division 1 and Division 2 competitions, while Revival Sports Eydhafushi Academy will have 32 athletes competing across the junior categories and Division 1 and Division 2. Both academies have shown significant progress and steady improvement in their recent competitions, and will aim to build on that momentum with strong performances and further progress at the National Tournament.

In the National Tournament, junior categories includes U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 boys’ and girls’ singles, with doubles competitions from U11 through U19 and mixed doubles in the U15, U17 and U19 categories.

The senior competition features Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles in both Division 1 and Division 2, alongside men’s and women’s team events.

With the 50th National Badminton Tournament marking the first Nationals for Revival Sports in three years, the club has arrived with three different groups carrying the same objective, to build on recent development and challenge for the podium.

Following months of preparation, international competition and high-level training in Malaysia, Revival Sports will now look to turn that investment into results on the national stage, with historic podium finishes and a strong showing in the Division 1 categories among its primary ambitions.
