Revival Sports Trio Depart for Indonesia Training Camp Under IOIG 2027 Development Project
Three athletes from the Revival Sports High Performance and Under-23 squads have departed for Surabaya, Indonesia, to undertake a month-long intensive training camp as part of the club’s Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) 2027 Development Project.
High Performance squad member Haisham Ibrahim Ali, alongside Under-23 squad athletes Ahmed Ayaan Bin Mohamed Solah and Ayyoob Azhar Mohamed, left Maldives on Tuesday morning to begin the overseas programme at the prestigious Sony Dwi Kuncoro Badminton Training Centre.
The trio will spend the next month training full-time at the Indonesian facility, which is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading badminton development centres. The programme is designed to provide athletes with exposure to a higher-performance training environment while enhancing their technical, tactical and physical development.
The training camp forms part of Revival Sports’ long-term IOIG 2027 Development Project, an ambitious initiative launched by the club to prepare athletes for future international competitions and increase the number of Revival Sports players representing Maldives at the 2027 Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG).
Revival Sports has identified international training opportunities as a key component of the project, with athletes regularly exposed to overseas coaching, high-level sparring partners and professional training systems aimed at accelerating their development.
For Haisham, Ayaan and Ayyoob, the camp represents a valuable opportunity to gain experience within one of badminton’s most successful nations. Indonesia has produced numerous Olympic, World Championship.
The month-long programme is expected to provide the three athletes with intensive daily training under experienced coaches while allowing them to experience the standards and demands of elite badminton development.
Revival Sports has continued to expand its investment in athlete development in recent months, with multiple players currently involved in overseas training camps and international competitions as part of preparations for major future events, including the IOIG 2027.
The Indonesia training camp marks another significant step in that pathway as the club continues its efforts to develop the next generation of Maldivian badminton talent.
