Revival Sports Badminton Academy has strengthened its coaching team with the appointment of former Maldives national team player Maisa Fathuhulla Ismail as a full-time coach and the academy’s leading female coach.

Maisa brings more than a decade of international playing experience to the academy, having represented the Maldives National Badminton Team from 2012 to 2023. Her appointment adds valuable expertise to Revival Sports’ growing coaching structure, particularly in the development of female athletes.

A standout achievement in her playing career came when Maisa became the youngest Maldives National Women’s Singles Champion, winning the title at just 17 years of age. She went on to establish herself as one of the country’s leading badminton players across singles, doubles and mixed doubles, collecting multiple national titles throughout her career.

On the international stage, Maisa represented the Maldives at several major competitions, including the 2013 Youth Asian Games in China, 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, 2016 South Asian Games in Shillong, 2016 Badminton Asia Team Championships in Hyderabad, the 2019 Mauritius International Series, and the 2023 Asian Games.

She also enjoyed considerable success at the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG). Maisa won a silver medal in the team event at the 2023 IOIG, while securing bronze medals in the team event and mixed doubles at the 2019 IOIG, as well as a bronze in the team event at the 2015 IOIG.

Her transition into full-time coaching brings a wealth of high-level competitive experience to Revival Sports, allowing her to pass on the knowledge gained from more than a decade representing the Maldives at international level.

The addition of Maisa further strengthens Revival Sports’ coaching team as the academy continues to invest in athlete development, high-performance training and the long-term growth of badminton in the Maldives.
