Two Team Titles, Total Dominance: Revival Sports Rule First Division

Revival Sports have completed a dominant campaign at the 50th National Badminton Tournament, securing both First Division team event titles and claiming every available gold medal in the First Division categories.

Revival Sports have capped off a historic tournament campaign with a clean sweep of the First Division events, underlining the academy’s strength across both men’s and women’s badminton.

Competing against eight teams in the First Division Men’s Team Event, Revival Sports maintained a 100 percent winning record throughout the competition before defeating Police Club 3–1 in the final.

In the championship match, Jelang Fajar gave Revival Sports the perfect start, defeating Ahmed Thoif Mohamed 15–5, 15–1 in the opening singles encounter. Surya Adi Pambudi then extended Revival’s advantage with a straight-games victory over Prinyawat Thongnuam, winning 15–11, 15–11.

Police Club responded through Prince Dahal, who defeated Nibal Ahmed 15–8, 15–10 to bring the score to 2–1. However, Revival Sports had already built a commanding position, with the team securing the championship without requiring the remaining second doubles match to be played.

The men’s victory completed Revival Sports’ unbeaten run in a division contested by eight teams.

Revival Sports also delivered a perfect performance in the First Division Women’s Team Event, where three teams competed for the title. The Revival women’s team defeated C.S. Sports 3–0 on 20 September, securing the championship without needing to play the remaining two doubles matches.

Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq opened the final with a 15–8, 15–10 victory over Yalvee Hussain Zuhury. Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq then defeated Aminath Farha Faroozan 15–6, 15–1, before Nurani Ratu Azzahra completed the decisive win with a 15–2, 15–6 victory over Kiyan Adil Mohamed.

With both team titles secured, Revival Sports completed their First Division dominance, winning every gold medal available across the division’s events.

The achievement highlights the depth, consistency and competitive strength of Revival Sports’ badminton programme, as the academy continues to establish itself as a leading force in Maldivian badminton.
